Story: Reita is an orphaned child, who grew up in the suburbs of Tokyo. While he did not have any family that he knew of, he was welcomed into a nice foster home. His foster parents were loving and caring people and he was treated with the same amount of love and kindness as any real child would be given. His foster brother, 3 years his senior, took Reita under his wing like a real older brother would.
Life was going well for young Reita. He attended school, had many friends, loved sports, music, and getting into the typical mischief as any young boy would. Reita met Miyavi during grade school and they became the best of friends. Playing together, eating together, even getting into trouble together. During the last year of middle school Reita's foster brother ran away, it was a crushing blow to the young boy who had looked up to him all his life. But with the help of his friend Miyavi he was able to get through it.
Not more then a year later, Miyavi disappeared as well, Reita had been waiting by his bedroom window for the other boy to show up, so they could sneak out and go to a party. Reita was hurt when Miyavi never showed, but the next day he wasn't in school, nor the next. Reita tried desperately to find out what had happened to his friend but none of the adults that knew would give him any answers. Finally after many months of getting the door slammed in his face, Reita faced the fact that his friend was gone.
High school brought new hope for Reita, he met a girl, became good friends and eventually fell in love. After a year of being good friends they started dating, she was his first everything and he just about would do anything for her. One day the young girl got raped and violated by her teacher, a tragic closet alcoholic middle aged man who was unable to resist the temptation of blossoming teenage girls. After several weeks of extreme depression, the girl confessed to her boyfriend what had happened.
In order to save his girlfriend's pride and honor, Reita would not allow her to confess what had happened to the authorities. He feared she would be ridiculed, or worse that no one would believe her, as the teacher who had raped her was a respected member of the community. So Reita decided to restore justice by administering his own form of punishment on the teacher, beating him within inches of his life.
When the authorities asked why Reita had assaulted the teacher, he simply replied it was due to being given poor marks in class. He was put on trial, diagnosed as mentally ill and sent away to live at Hanayami. Torn away from his girlfriend who he had loved so dearly. Although he had never imagined he would be sent away, he does not regret avenging the honor for his love.
